Here we publish experiences with the payment card, exchange campaigns and other struggles against racist symbolic politics. If you would like to publish text, video or audio, please submit it here here.
“A few months ago, I met up with a person from the Märkisch-Oderland district who has had a payment card since last year. We got to know each other at a workshop and then arranged to meet up to exchange vouchers for cash. He came to Berlin and we met at a Rewe supermarket. At first we had difficulties finding the Rewe vouchers, but then it was easy: he used his payment card at the checkout to load credit onto the vouchers, 50 euros on each voucher, and I then gave him the corresponding cash. He was happy that he could now use it to pay his lawyer, because the transfer to her hadn’t been activated yet. We also met up the following month. He can now also exchange his vouchers at a bureau de change in Seelow and is happy that he doesn’t have to travel so far.”
