Become active

There are many reasons against the payment card. But there are also various ways to oppose it and take action.

Exchange campaigns

In order to become active together, it is important to exchange ideas and work together with others. Organize with friends, family, neighbors or other activists to fight against the payment card and abolish it.

Making criticism public

A large part of the protest is public relations work. Share your experiences and criticism of the payment card:

  • Testimonials: You can share your experiences on our website and submit them here.
  • Take a stand against the racist discourse: talk about the problems with the payment card – control, discrimination, disenfranchisement – and explain why this is part of a racist policy. Use our fact check (link follows) to refute false arguments.

If you find it difficult to express your opinion in conversations, practise with friends beforehand or attend a regulars’ table fighter seminar.

Putting pressure on politicians

Political pressure is also important. There are already cities and districts that are against the payment card, for example Potsdam, but also other municipalities in Germany.

  • Petitions: Sign and share ongoing petitions against the payment card. You can also start a petition yourself if there is not (yet) one in your area.
  • Demonstrations: Find out about protest actions and go together. Get together, talk to groups that are already active and organize a demonstration, rally or other high-profile action yourself.
  • Write to politicians in your region (e.g. an email) or talk to them. Ask them to take a stand and oppose the payment card.
